Steps to participate in Content courses Spring of 2010

All three of the steps must be completed to be successfully enrolled in a content course occurring in the summer (i.e., summer academy), fall, or spring.

Notes:
1. These instructions do not apply to Structured Follow Up courses.
2. You MUST complete these steps each semester during which you take content courses.

IMPORTANT instructions for accurately completing application:  Please use your full legal name when filling out the application (no nicknames) as it must match the name used on the stipend payment voucher. Please update your name with the university by following the directions on the Name Change and Record Update form. It is very important that you check the right box for the grade level that you teach. We will confirm this information with your district before the stipends are issued.

Step 1: Complete and Submit the RMMSMSP Content Course Application

  • Complete and submit the RMMSMSP application found on the RMMSMSP web site. This form is specific to the RMMSMSP project and does not go to the University of Colorado.
  • RMMSMSP project staff will review the application to determine your eligibility for the program and for the course(s) you want to take.
  • If you are accepted into the program and placed into a course(s), then project staff will contact you and tell you to proceed to step 2.
  • Spring 2010 Content Application
  • Deadline: December 14

Step 2 (REQUIRED): Complete and Submit Continuing and Professional Education Pre-Registration Application

  • Once project staff notifies you that you were selected to participate in the program (i.e., take our courses), then complete and submit the Continuing and Professional Education Pre-Registration Application.
  • This application is submitted online to the University of Colorado Registrar’s office. A link to the application is on the University of Colorado at Denver Registrar’s main page.

Step 3 (REQUIRED): Register through the University for College Credit

  • Project staff will email you the call numbers for the course into which you were placed.
  • Once you receive the call numbers, and have completed Step 2, then you need to register for college credit through the University of Colorado registration system (called the SMART system).
  • Download the step by step guide to register with screen captures or without screen captures.
  • Deadline: Jan 17

**** If you need to drop a RM course please notify our office immediately. If you’ve already registered for the course on the University’s SMART system you must drop it online there. You are not automatically dropped from the class after notifying our office, you are only taken off of our databases. We cannot administratively drop you, you must do it yourself. You will be responsible for the tuition If you fail to drop the course on the SMART system BEFORE the deadline posted on our calendar and communicated to you in numerous emails. If you miss the deadline for an SFU course you will need to complete the Schedule Adjustment Form found under Participation Forms. Fax the form to us and we’ll sign it then send it to the correct registrar contact. If you miss the deadline for a Content course you will have to submit a full petition to Dr. Tammy Stone the CLAS Dean. As of Fall 2008 her office notified us that they will no longer accept Schedule Adjustment Forms from our grant, because of their high use in the past. We will not award stipends to individuals who fail to add the class on time, regardless of their attendance.
